Who comes to see Joanne

The symptoms look different. The root is often the same.

Many families reach us after they’ve already done a lot: orthodontics, an ENT visit, a sleep study, years of “let’s wait and see.” Each of those providers did their part. The connecting piece — how the tongue rests, how you breathe, how you swallow — tends to fall between specialties.

That’s the piece Joanne Nguyen, RDH, focuses on. With 15+ years of clinical care behind her, she looks at breathing, tongue posture, sleep, and jaw function together, and builds a plan of simple exercises that fits your family’s life.

  • Children

Mouth breathing, snoring, restless sleep, a tongue tie before or after a release, or trouble focusing that seems tied to tired mornings.

Snoring, waking tired, jaw or neck tension, morning headaches — the things you’ve explained away for years.

  • After braces

Teeth that drift back, or a tongue that pushes forward when you swallow. We help orthodontic work hold.

Common questions

Before your first visit

Where is the Cerritos office?

10945 South St, Ste 200A, Cerritos, CA 90703.

Which days is Joanne in Cerritos?

Joanne sees clients in Cerritos by appointment on set days each week. Call or text 657-768-6644, or start with a free consultation, and we’ll find a time that works for you.

Can therapy help teeth stay put after braces?

It can help. Braces move the teeth; the tongue and lips push on them all day, every day. When the tongue rests low or pushes forward when you swallow, that pressure can work against orthodontic results. Therapy retrains those habits and works alongside your orthodontist — it doesn’t replace retainers or their care.

What ages do you work with?

Children as young as 3.5, and adults of any age. Often more than one person in a family is affected, and we can work with you together.

Can some sessions be by telehealth?

Yes. Many families mix visits to the Cerritos office with telehealth sessions — whatever fits your schedule.
