Who comes to see Joanne

The symptoms look different. The root is often the same.

Most people who reach out have been living with something for a while. A child who sleeps with their mouth open. An adult who wakes up tired no matter what time they went to bed. A tongue tie that was released, but the old habits stayed.

Joanne Nguyen, RDH, brings 15+ years of clinical care. As a myofunctional therapist, she looks at the pattern underneath — breathing, tongue posture, sleep, and jaw function together. This isn’t a criticism of the care you’ve received. Most providers treat the symptom in front of them. Myofunctional therapy looks at what connects them.

  • Children

Mouth breathing, snoring, restless sleep, a tongue tie before or after a release, or trouble focusing that seems tied to tired mornings.

  • Adults

Snoring, waking tired, jaw or neck tension, morning headaches — the things you’ve explained away for years.

  • After braces

Teeth that drift back, or a tongue that pushes forward when you swallow. We help orthodontic work hold.

In their words

“We met about nine months, six before surgery and three after. The two biggest differences: the neck pain went away completely, and no more choking at night…”

— Rachael E., adult client

“She continued to offer her expertise alongside other disciplines (ENT, orthodontist) so he received the best possible care… Her knowledge base is more than exceptional.”

— Mary R., parent

Common questions

Before your first visit

Where is the Tustin office?

17291 Irvine Blvd, Suite 432, Tustin, CA 92780. It’s our main office.

Which days is Joanne in Tustin?

Joanne sees clients in Tustin by appointment on set days each week. Call or text 657-768-6644, or start with a free consultation, and we’ll find a time that works for you.

Do you see adults, or mostly children?

Both. We work with children as young as 3.5, and there’s no upper limit — adults retrain these patterns successfully too. Often more than one person in a family is affected, and we can work with you together.

Do I have to come in for every session?

No. Many families mix visits to the Tustin office with telehealth sessions — whatever fits your schedule. The exercises themselves take just minutes a day at home.

Will you work with my dentist or orthodontist?

Yes. Myofunctional therapy works alongside the dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, and physicians you already trust. When something structural needs attention first, we make sure it happens in the right order.
